Modified on Fri, 08 Apr 2022 at 01:28 PM

When creating a new web hosting environment, you'll be greeted by this standard placeholder site. In this guide, we'll show you how to remove it. When starting this tutorial, you should be logged in to DirectAdmin for the environment you want to update.

Step 1

First, open the side menu and navigate to System Info & Files -> File Manager.

Step 2

Double click the public_html folder in the list.

Step 3

Then click once on the index.html file, select the 3 dots in the upper right corner and then select "Remove".

Step 4

Confirm that you want to delete the index.html.

Step 5

Your site should now display an error stating that there is no content. This error will disappear as soon as you upload your site to the platform.
